FINAL THOUGHTS...

“You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, 'I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.'” – Eleanor Roosevelt When I began this program a year ago, I jumped in with both feet.   I had wanted this for a very long time, and it was almost as if I had been given a “do-over.”     All I knew was that life had recently thrown me several nasty curveballs, and I felt that going back to graduate school after 15 years was the best way to deal with them.   The thought of graduation, over a year away, seemed forever in the distance, and I had no real plans or ideas of where I was headed or what I wanted to do afterward.   Now, I am one term and one class away from graduation (ten weeks), and I am feeling more terrified than ever.   In essence, I am starting over mid-life and it scares me.   While I believe I finally determined what I would love to do

I'M BACK (I HAVEN'T THROWN IN THE TOWEL YET)

“My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far I’ve finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already.”   Dave Barry  (https://everydaypower.com/funny-motivational-quotes-about-life/)

It’s me again, your aspiring Strategic Communications graduate, Becci!  I know you all have been waiting on bated breath for my return.  I am finally in the home stretch of my program and this May (if all goes as planned), I should be graduating with my Master’s degree in Strategic Communications from Troy University.  That being said, I believe I have FINALLY figured out what I would like to do with the rest of my life as well (to be revealed later).  The scary part about everything is starting over…Mid-life.

To all my repeat “offenders” as well as any newbies here, this blog is all about the awesomeness of communication.  I can remember when I graduated with my bachelor’s degree over 15 years ago, communication and technology were very different.  However, as I have maneuvered my way through this program (often not very gracefully) over the last year, I discovered various aspects of strategic communications that I would never have explored otherwise.  I have also determined avenues I definitely want to avoid!

So sit back, relax, and I hope you enjoy each new installment of BECCI’s BLURB.  Please feel free to comment or leave feedback regarding my weekly entries.
